NMCA will host an awesome Car Show both days, Saturday and Sunday. Bring your muscle car, hot rod, truck, or specialty vehicle for a chance to win one of over 50 awards each day. Mopar Now, published by the folks who produce Mopar Muscle, will provide awesome pre-event and post-event coverage of the Late-Model HEMI Shootout. This NMCA event will feature all the cars and all the stars of the NMCA series as well as the coolest modern HEMI race and show cars in the country. Late-Model HEMI competitors join the NMCA’s already large base of muscle car racers and enthusiasts. Other exciting features of this NMCA event include a huge car show, a giant manufacturers’ midway/swap meet and a 300+ mph jet dragster!

The shopHEMI.com Late-Model HEMI Shootout is a special “event within an event” that features race & car show classes specifically designed for modern HEMI-powered Chrysler and Dodge vehicles.  Modern Street HEMI Shootout Series Race Classes:

• Unlimited Class: Heads-up racing for all gen III HEMI powered vehicles. No weight or power adder restriction.
• PRO Class: Heads up racing for forced induction LX, LC and SRT Jeep.
• Stroker Class: N/A heads up racing for all stroked cars up to 468 cubic inches and Stock block 6.4 SRT.
• Super Stock: N/A heads up racing for all 6.1 and 5.7 cars.
• All competitors in the above 4 classes may compete in the Late-Model HEMI True Street class on Saturday FREE of charge if vehicle meets True Street rules.

 DiabloSport HEMI Rumble Class: Index-style rules. Friday/Saturday time trials (3 passes) and Sunday eliminations. HEMI Rumble competitor may compete in the Late-Model HEMI True Street class on Saturday FREE of charge if vehicle meets True Street rules.

• Winner: $1,000 + Contingency + Plaque
• Runner-Up: $500 + Contingency + Plaque
• Semi-Finalists: $150
• Quarter Finalists: $75

Late-Model HEMI Shootout will have contingency available from upwards of 50 manufacturers posting $150/win and $75/runner-up.

 TREMEC Late-Model HEMI True Street Class

The Late-Model HEMI True Street class is designed for “true” street cars that are licensed, insured and capable of making a 30-mile police escorted cruise! The class will be contested on the Saturday of the event (June 9th) and each racer will run three back-to-back passes for an overall average E.T. Awards are given to the overall fastest HEMI, runner up, and the closest averages to 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 seconds.

• Runner-Up: $100 + Plaque
• Other Winners: $100+Plaque to 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15 Second Winners

Want to race? Maryland International Raceway has an excellent racing surface that’s always prepped to within an inch of its life – it’s a great place to find out whether you’ve got the power you think you do. You can have the opportunity to show off your skills in the driver’s seat on the track in one of the NMCA’s various classes designed to satisfy the entry-level racer. The TREMEC True Street class has always been a racer favorite, with awards given out to the racers closest to each second increment, along with the overall quickest car and the runner-up, after their 30-mile cruise and three dragstrip passes are complete. Last year at this event, Mark Scordato put together an 8.86 average from his convertible ’68 GTO to take home the True Street 6-foot tall trophy, while Elkton, Virginia’s Chris Shifflett took home the second spot with an 8.93 average from his ’88 Mustang. In addition to True Street, entry-level racers fit into the Open Comp, Nostalgia Muscle Car, and Late Model EFI classes, so take a look at the class rules and make your plans to come out and race with the best Muscle Car racers in the country.
