2 hemi swaps planned more to come
#1
New member from Saskatchewan Canada. I've purchased 2 complete hemi engines and one parts engine. one engine is an 08, one is a 04 and the parts engine is a 2010, I also have a 545rfe 4x4 transmission for one swap and a W5A580 for another.
these new engines are just so nice and the new technology it's almost a no brainer to use them.
the swap candidates are my 1981 Dodge D250 Crew Cab and my 1963 Plymouth Belvedere.
I have an engine harness for each of the 3 engines I have, 1 out of a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T with the transmission plugs, 1 out of an 08 truck but it's just the engine bay portion, and I have a harness out of a 2009 Dodge truck that is complete engine and dash, thats the one I plan on using in the 81 with the factory dodge speedometer and all.
The 63 will retain the factory speedometer I will just modify it with new guts to make it work with the new wiring. But I'm doing the "simple" swap first putting the 5.7 into my 81 basically factory stock with the factory wiring and all.
I'm right now in the midst of rebuilding the 5.7 for the 81 and will be using the 2010 block(because of the VCT) with the 2008 heads and intake. that will be followed by the 545rfe with a np208 transfer case. I plan on hottanking the heads(the block has less then 10000 kms on it so I'm just going to clean the carbon off the pistons and call it fine)
