Default Hemi vs f-body

This forum is empty... so I think I'll add my little piece.

First, a little background: There's some young whipper snapper in my area who, at the time, just bought his yellow Charger Daytona. It was obvious he loved his exhaust because he was revving at everyone and everything. A few days later, my best friend came to me with his tail between his legs and told me the yellow Charger whooped his butt from a roll and a dig. He drives an '04 Cavalier, so... no competition for the Charger, but he wanted revenge (vicariously through me).

Days later, I was on my way to the store when the yellow Charger passed by me and revved his engine like there's no tomorrow. It was quite convenient that my best friend was with me at the time. I had dual cutouts right after my headers and decided I'd partake in the "who has the loudest exhaust" pissing match. I think I won, but anyway, he took a left at the next light and I gave chase. We ended up being on a two lane road with him in the left lane and me on the right. We both gunned it with him a little ahead of me and I quickly closed the gap... until my A4 decided it'd be pretty sweet to hit the rev limiter five or six times in 1st. After that embarrassment, we pulled up to another light, but with me behind him since some old guy in a truck was in the right lane. The light turned, we both gunned it, and this time my passing him was much smoother! He was probably 5-6 car lengths behind before I slowed to about a 25-30 roll. He caught up and we both punched it again. I let go at the top of 2nd (~100 mph) because he was too far gone at that point.

Car at the time was '02 LS1 Formula with LPE GT2-3 and your basic I/H/E bolt ons.

' word on the street is he's gonna to be boosted. I can't wait to re-educate him!

Months later, at the track, I got my *** handed to me by one of those Chrystler 300s. His mid-low 12s to my (wtf happened?!) 14.5.

Bone Stock Charger? The tranny and torque management used to kill me ...I tuned the car and it pulls like a SOB now. Problem is off the line and roll the Charger will stumble without the tranny tune. At WOT the car bogs then kicks....that bog will kill you in a race. I guarantee the 300c had some work and a tune....I would like to race you and see what happens...

Torque mgmt. SUCKS in these cars. I really want it gone, so I can see this sucker solidly in the 12's

Brains...you have an 6.1 SRT-8 or 5.7 R/T? The 6.1 can be defeated...all you have to do is hold the ESP OFF for like 10 secs as soon as you start the car......the last BING you hear its off.....the 5.7 needs Super Chips or something similar tune wise to help open the tranny....the combo of the above and a tune almost..i say almost because there is always a bit left....gets rid of the torque managment in the 5.7 ...my car was like night and day with and without the tune.....I would recommend Super Chips to everyone...

I had a similiar experience with a ws6. He had a slp lid, exh, tune. From a 60 roll up to 150mph i put 2 cars on him. Several 70-120 roll outcome was the same. He was a cool cat. we stopped and talked for a while and couldn't believe that all i had was a CAI.

Last weekend at the track i ran a 13.1 @ 111.14 with wheel spin.

I have a 6.1 ... but there is still a dramatic torque reduction during acceleration in 1st, and on each upshift. I'm running with ESP fully "disabled." (ie. 6 second press, chime, indication in the EVIC)

Are you on the any of the lx forums?

You know that DCX only allows 75% throttle in first gear with the factory program right! I'm looking into the B&G to get rid of that crap and take out the torque management!

Yeah I poke around on lxforums and chargerforums ... Its just aggravating to know there's quite a bit more power on tap, that the PCM/TCM evil due is holding back

The B&G looks like the best option -- for now. I really want a tuning PACKAGE though, so I can make changes as I mod the car.

If I remember correctly Mopar Muscle said it was fuse 17 It should say what each fuse is for in the owner's manual though.
