so I’ve searched for this info far and wide but nowhere can I find a side by side comparison of the 5.7 and 6.4 cams.
im currently doing the cam/lifter job on my ram and I bought what was listed as a 6.4 cam.
So I’m comparing it to a 5.7 cam that came as part of an overhaul package which I also just bought for this specific job..
the only difference I can see in the 2 cams is the 6.4 may possibly have slightly larger but otherwise identical lobes…..Or my hands may be shook while using the micrometer but either way it’s barely a noticeable difference.
I actually think the 5.7 cam is likely a “freshened up” used cam which may account for the minuscule profile difference from the 6.4 unit. I never intended to use it so don’t care too much but I def want to get a spicier cam in while I’m have things opened up.
Anyone know how to distinguish a 6.4 cam from a 5.7 or could this slight discrepancy actually be correct?
