As if the muscle car insanity of the 15th Annual E3 Spark Plugs NMCA World Street Finals isn’t enough…NMCA and Mopar are pleased to announce the inaugural Mopar Drag Pak Showdown. The Mopar Drag Pak Showdown is a special event to be run in conjunction with the NMCA World Street Finals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, August 25-28, 2016. All 2009-2016 Drag Pak owners are invited to participate with the opportunity to compete in the Drag Pak Showdown Friday/Saturday and the NMCA bracket race on Sunday.
NMCA, working in conjunction with Mopar Motorsports Marketing Manager, Dale Aldo, was able to create this special race category to showcase the awesome performance of these factory-built Mopar race cars. “It is a huge opportunity to work directly with Mopar and support their factory drag racers,” said Steve Wolcott, President & CEO of the NMCA. “There’s a rabid base of Mopar fans within the National Muscle Car Association and this event will provide a venue to showcase modern Mopar performance in the Drag Pak Showdown alongside classic Mopar performance as seen in our Nostalgia Super Stock and Muscle Car categories."
The Drag Pak Showdown class will pay $1,000 to win plus a custom Victor award presented in the Aerospace Components Winners Circle. The Showdown is scheduled to be completed on Saturday, August 27th, so competitors can travel on Sunday to Indy to get in line for the NHRA U.S. Nationals. Competitors staying Sunday will receive a free entry into the bracket race.
