Let's see some SRT-8/Hemi Track times!

I was at the track in September with my friend who is a die hard Mopar guy and we saw a 300 SRT-8 running low 13's in hot weather. The owner was a nice older guy who let us inspect the car and even sit in the driver seat. We were impressed (seats are killer) with the car. How about Hemi owners post some some ET's? List mods if you have any.

Brains 12-14-2006 11:21 PM

I've seen some high 12's from the 6.1L SRT cars on occasion. Not too bad for 4100+ pound cars!!

DriveATransAm 12-16-2006 05:15 PM

in the sig.

last time out was a 20 mph head wind with the same ET, but mph was down 3. shoulda gone 12.7s though :(

hemidup 12-17-2006 09:40 AM

DrkPhx, I watched the same guy run a 13.05@111 at Rock Falls last spring. He's a real great guy and has a wonderful wife. She races as well. She runs a SST Ram with a 408 stroker in it. That's a low 13 sec ride as well.

Cummins 12-20-2006 01:47 PM

14.1 @ 99 bone stock R/T

tbyrne 12-21-2006 08:53 PM

The fastest stock SRT-8 that I've heard of was run at Atco last year. He went 12.7 @ 111.... stock. There were witnesses too! :) Not bad for cool weather and a good DA!

Wilde Racing 01-02-2007 03:27 AM

There is a local guy that runs 13's in a non SRT-8 charger. he is making some big changes and going for 11.s...

MomsR/T 01-03-2007 11:13 AM

We will hit 11's in an R/T Magnum fairly soon..............full weight @ 4500 lbs

Frank Racing Heads / Cam
Kooks Long Tubes / Cats
Cat-Back
AirHammer Intake
B&G II
Newest MOPAR flash on the TCM
Frank Racing Nitrous (100 shot)

One of our truck customers has gone 12.1X on the juice. We just put a 370" stroker in it and it made over 400 rwhp & rwtq on the dyno N/A and about 500/540 on a 100 shot. He is going to hit the track this weekend I think. It should go 12's on motor and 11's on the gas if everything works as planned.

My 04 Ram QC went 13.96 @ 95 N/A in the Texas heat. I am taking the parts from that and building a RC truck right now.

Didn't get a good chance to REALLY see what she'd do, because in the 4 hours we were at the track, we were only able to get TWO passes. Oh and we never went back to the pits either. Welcome to Houston Parkway Park.

Car is bone stock, no changes from off the street. No burnout, just drove around the water box and straight to the line. Car has ~2650 miles on it, and weighed in at 4380 with me in it (I'm 180). There was only a gallon or two of gas in the tank (low fuel light lit the whole time).

First pass - Stalled to 1500, rolled into the throttle:

Second pass - Slept at the light :emb: because I was looking down at the camera  Rolled the throttle from idle:

i'll throw mine in here, it's in my sig too.

13.14 @ 111.14 2.13 60'

Outlaw55 02-14-2007 06:47 AM

wasnt there a guy running 12.56 in a STOCK 3SRT8 a year or so ago? He also had a turbo Lsx GTO as well....?

hemidup 02-14-2007 08:07 PM

Is there something you guy's can do with the TM? It seems your cars are pig's out of the hole, but your 1/4 mile, mph is fantastic.

Brains 02-15-2007 09:38 AM

Yeah they lumber off the line pretty badly, due to the 75% electronic throttle limitation. Of course, moving just shy of 4400 lbs. from a dead stop isn't exactly easy

hemidup 02-17-2007 01:11 PM

Try moving a 5300 lb truck. lol

60' 1.856
330 5.193
1/8 8.025
MPH 85.87
1000 10.526
1/4 12.659
MPH 105.22

ND RAM 02-17-2007 08:26 PM

:jest: Not bad. I hope I'm that fast. Damn I need to get to the track.

hemidup 02-18-2007 02:01 PM

With new rim's, tires, smaller pulley, new intake manifold, transmission and stall converter, I should knock another .7-.9 tenths off of that. We'll s4ee what happens in Tulsa next month.

65gibson 02-21-2007 03:29 PM

5.34 sec 0-60 on Superchips tuning, track time ???? 1/4???? 06 Charger R/T

New torque converter should help the slow 60' times.

2005 Magnum R / T with a 5.7 Hemi, best quarter mile time so far.
13.946@98.79 mph.
I expect better times this year with the addition of the Mopar Performance headers and high flow cats and some new rear skins.
The rest of my list can be seen at www.midwestracing.net. Look for the Night Moves II link in the nav bar.
New torque converter is in my future.

CHRISPY 03-28-2007 09:43 AM

I'll be heading to the track in a couple weeks for a baseline with the SRT8 :)

Night Moves II 03-28-2007 11:11 AM

April 7th is track time. I'll post the difference the headers and cats make. I also added a set of MSD Super Conductor wires. Time to rock and roll.
