6.1L are doing fine, the only failures we have seen are from overheating or loss of oil due to pan hits.
On the 5.7L we have seen 7 engines come back with connecting rod bearing failures. Might have been bad assembly cause we haven't had any since. 2 for failed pistons due to seized piston pins. This was in the last 5 months and all under 20k miles. The cross section thickness on the stock rods is pretty scary. So i'd recommend new rods and bearings for any enhancers.

There is a TSB about the 6.1 wrist pins. I just read today where SemiHemi from Performance Trucks, has a 6.1 from an SRT8 sitting on the floor of the dealership he works at with a bad wrist pin. In my personal views, the 5.7 seems to have stronger main web design than the 6.1. The 6.1 has a better deck design by far.

All the issues I know of (while few) have been due to low RPM discharge. These people have been relying on the ZEX as their ONLY means of initiation of their activation rather than the WOT box and a button (as an example).

The second issue is a single fogger in front of the TB............

Due to the intake design, the distribution of the fuel to the frt cyl. isn't so good due to the intake (5.7) being a dual plane.

A single, TB fogger, will limit a user to a 100 shot while I am sure a direct port will yield higher numbers.

Install a MP1 intake with a modified carb/TB spacer for a wet shot. Or....Go to a direct port system with the same manifold.

the ring lands are thin. local guys have found a 100 shot is about the safest it can go on a stock piston. local 6.1 car is pushing his srt8 to 11.93 at 118 mph on a 100 shot.

were trying to get some things accomplished here at our place but time aint on our side. we will chat about it more later once we figure out the vendor thing.

Yeah I think I read the top ring is only 3mm from the crown. That's pretty darned thin.

Brains, Your right about the top ring land only being 3mm down from the crown. Also, from the engines we tore down, the ring gap's measured from the worst of .09 to the best of .12.

I have the NX wet kit, but have honestly been thinking about switching to the ZEX kit....at least for control.

I saw great results on a 6.1 in Houston.
Shaved a complete second off his times.

There is a HEMI Ram that sprays 220 over 2 stages all the time no problem. He has been as high as a 325 shot I think? I hit my stock 03 5.7 with a 150 shot over 2 stages no problem. I am the guy Jerry was talking about with the 6.1/414 stroker and i have a 6.1 intake plumbed with a 8 nozzle fogger. I am putting that kit together this week. I am going to leave the 2 stage in place as well for burnouts/a little something extra if needed. My entire nitrous system is capable of something rediculous like a 1,000 hp combined shot! I doubt I will ever use more than 300 at any one time, I should be plenty fast N/A anyways!
