So when we gonna linem up?

BigBronco 12-17-2006 10:11 PM

wow that is HOT!

Nine Ball 12-17-2006 10:13 PM

Awesome cars. If I didn't need a truck that is what I'd like for a daily-driver.

Brains 12-17-2006 10:27 PM

I've only been in the car for an hour so far, but its bad ass. Decent power so far, surprisingly good handling car despite its weight. The Brembo brakes are stellar, heck the rotors are like 13.5 inches or something like that! The rear seat DVD player is a hit with the kiddo, the in-dash navigation is a hit with the little lady :)

Vendetta 12-17-2006 11:06 PM

I'm stealing it.

2MuchRiceMakesMeSick 12-17-2006 11:25 PM

nice car brains!

unit213 12-18-2006 06:41 AM

That's a great looking ride! Those seats look real cozy.

Brains 12-18-2006 08:22 AM

Seats are nice, even getting out a GTO with its outstanding seating.

The first thing I want to change, and I can't do it (yet), is the electronic throttle pedal curve. Its like the GMC trucks -- they open the throttle blade much too slowly and it makes the car feel somewhat "lazy" at part throttle. Hopefully these PCMs get cracked soon, because there's heads/cam packages that need to be tested out :)

Nine Ball 12-18-2006 09:22 AM

Ready for some real-world "testing" against a stock LS2 GTO? We can do some runs from a stop, runs from a roll, etc.... maybe even video tape them. Could be fun!

Tony

Patrick G 12-18-2006 09:23 AM

I love those cars. There's one exactly like that in my neighborhood...same color. Pisses me off too because now I'll have to get a different color or get a 300 SRT8 instead.

Hell yes! Video is a must, I have a pretty decent Sony digital camcorder, I'm sure you have something too.

jhelms 12-18-2006 01:13 PM

I love that! What should it dyno in stock form?

Brains 12-18-2006 01:16 PM

Seems people report from 350's to 370's in stock form.

forget what people say get it on the dyno ASAP

WILWAXU 12-18-2006 08:03 PM

Congrats on the new toy Brian!

Not much of a mopar fan, but I really like those!

Brains 12-18-2006 08:05 PM

This is my first DCX, and first Mopar EVER!! So far I'm really liking the car, but want to get rid of this crappy intrusive torque management / stability control system... It totally screws the fun factor when you want to get the car all out of shape and sideways

My buddy Todd did the brakes for all of the SRT vehicles. I've been trying to get his job for the last year and a half but they're not hiring. :( He's taken me for rides in the 300C SRT about 6 months before it hit dealer lots, an '06 Viper with a development brake system on it, and recently an SRT Jeep. That 6.1 Hemi is a helluva motor and the Charger SRT looks mean as hell in black.

NA$TY-TA 12-18-2006 10:21 PM

bad ass brian..... sweet ride... its a toss up for me between that one and the 300C SRT8.

Kyle

orangeapeel 12-18-2006 10:26 PM

Wow! Those are definitely bad ass!

Toxic Texan 12-20-2006 05:45 AM

Looks good!!!!!

CRAGER 12-23-2006 07:00 AM

Outstanding Brian!

What kind of aftermarket following is there for these cars?

Peace,
Craig.

Brains 12-23-2006 12:13 PM

We're about to find out ;)

When you fisrt start up the car press and hold the ESP botton above the radio/nav while the cars indash buzzer is still beeping. after about 8 seconds you will hear another beep which means the traction control is 90% disabled.
If you just press the botton trac control is only disabled about 40% whis still prevents wheel spin/slides. :drive:

Brains 12-25-2006 06:55 PM

Yeah I found that -- but it still shuts your fun down when you send the car sideways at 65 ...

DriveATransAm 01-02-2007 08:43 PM

nice ride. it takes a bit getting use to the ESP/TCS on these cars....especially from a TA that has like 0 assist. she seems to hold her own though. 2 mods i highly suggest are a CAI (i have a??i dont even remember :( ) and sways bars tighten the car up immensely. keep the shiny side up, and keep an eye on the rear tires :)

Brains 01-03-2007 10:05 AM

Its definitely a world of difference going from my 370cid Formula to my 370cid Charger  In the Charger, a quick blip of the throttle adds a couple MPH. In the Formy, a quick blip of the throttle makes some tail out sideways action

MomsR/T 01-03-2007 11:08 AM

To further disable the torque management, you can pull fuse 17..................however this will also disable your ABS.

We (LX community) have also figured out what wire to cut so you can simply apply a switch to make this "on the fly".

T/A - the CAI you have is the AFE II.........a nice piece.

The hiflow cats and cat back also are nice things that really do make some power.

The LX community have seen numerous 6.1's dyno @ 400 RWHP w/ the AFE II, cat back, and cats.

Another good buy is the B&G flash which will give a 6.1 full throttle in first gear............limit ETC even more..................bump timing..................and firm up the shifts.

Brains 01-03-2007 01:30 PM

I've seen some folks switch the +12V to the accelerometer module, which lights the MIL right? I'm thinking pulling the fuse is easy enough for me, like when at the track. Don't need ABS at the track anyway ;)

The B&G flash sounds like a winner for sure!

DriveATransAm 01-03-2007 07:33 PM

just an FYI- pulling fuse 17 in the newer srt8s will put it into LIMP mode. i found that out the hard way. 23 second pass :(

i do have the afe :D great cai.

Brains 01-04-2007 09:03 AM

limp mode? :bang:

MomsR/T 01-04-2007 03:11 PM

TA - When are you going to run our cam?

All you gotta do is turn it off then turn it back on.
