hemi tic after rebuild
New to the forum. Hopefully someone has info on my particular issue. I can't find and answer anywhere on the WEB.
2016 Ram 2500 hemi 6.4. 180k. Has lifters and cam damage. Bought it knowing it would need major work. MDS is still active. lifters and cam were replaced. timing belt, tensioner, VVT valve, 4 mds solenoids, head was decked and all new seats replaced. Cam is mopar and lifters are Comp. Bottom of engine verified as good with no rod knock. I still have a loud tic on both sides. Have drained oil 2x and added lucas to see if it helps but nothing. Rockers have no wiggle and bleeding process was done.. it tics from the very first second it was fired up. The weird thing is the tic goes away when ECO or MDS kick in. Then as soon as the full 8 cylinders are active the tic returns. I have read others have the tic when MDS is active and tic goes away when all 8 cylinders are back. Any help will be appreciated. Btw i paid a reputable mechanic who is well versed in hemi rebuilds but cant put his finger on it. Short of replacing the Comp lifters with Dodge lifters not sure what else to do. Also the work was redone to the point where torque tolerances where checked and the lifters were confirmed to not push down with top of center. Thx. |
