I was sent the item I purchased from this seller and it was broken upon arrival. I attempted to repair the item, which is an intake manifold for an engine. I was able to repair the item to make it usable, but the value of it would have been permanently lost. A claim was filed with UPS and was denied, even though the package was insured. UPS claimed that the shipper did not pack the item well enough and is responsible for the damage.
When UPS picked the item up for inspection at my residence it was not packed for shipping, nor was the box even closed when the UPS driver took it with him. After UPS inspected the item, it was shipped back to the seller without my knowledge. UPS did not package the item properly and arrived in unrepairable shape. The item was broken beyond repair.
The shipper of the item, in this case the seller, is who files the claims with UPS. Apparently a second claim was filed with UPS due to the negligence on their part when the item was shipped the second time.
I have been unable to contact the seller. They will not respond to my requests for status. They have my money, they even have the item which I paid for, even though it's broken in many pieces now due to UPS shipping and handling practices.
If UPS finds the seller/shipper responsible for the damages and will not honor the insurance paid for on the item; then I need my money refunded somehow. I don't have the $365 I paid for the item and I don't even have the item which I paid for. Since the item is broken anyways, there's no sense in getting the item back either. I just want to be refunded my money.
