Provided pictures were taken in low light, could not see imperfections in them.
They appear to have had blackouts on them at some point, so the lens had melted and "sunk in" on both lamps. You can actually set the edge of a piece of paper on one of them and it makes contact in 2 places with a gap underneath.
I offered to let him keep $10 out of the money sent to cover his shipping costs and ship them back at my cost (which would be a refund of $70), so that he is not out any money, but he said that he would think about it and he has since not returned phone calls since then.
I will be filing a claim with paypal after posting this.
I posted both his and my pictures of the lens faces as well as a video of the drivers side lens to picassa:

He provided 4 additional pictures of the back of the lamps. They do not show the lenses. I can post those as well if you like, but I have no issue with the backs/mounting points/etc.

Jarrett called tonight. He sent $25 back tonight and will send the rest after he gets paid on Friday. With transferring cash to another checking account to send through paypal, it should all be taken care of by the end of next week. I will ship back the taillights the day after I transfer cash from paypal back to my checking account. I will also change my trader feedback from negative to neutral at that time, if it lets me
