I bought a set of used 317 heads. As, my title in the thread states, I was looking for excellent condition, low mile 317 heads. These were shipped directly to AI from the seller for port work. Upon arriving to AI, they sent me an email that said this (copy and pasted from email inbox):
Andrew,
Received your heads & they’re being torn down now. Did the seller mention he broke 3 exhaust bolts off in them? One exhaust bolt hole that doesn’t have a bolt in it also has the threads pulled out of it & should be helicoiled.
Prior to purchasing these heads this was a PM that I sent to the seller (copy and pasted from inbox):
"Are these fully assembled with stock springs/valves? I bought a set a while ago and the bolts perforated into the water jackets so some coolant may leak out of the header bolts. I do NOT want this. I am looking for a set to be clean, free of dings/nicks, etc. Are any of the bolt holes stripped out or do any of the holes leak coolant without a threadsealer on the header bolts?"
The exact message replied back in the PM (copy and pasted from inbox):
"Wow.. that sucked!!!! my heads are complete and in perfect working order!!! just took them off of my running car!! i just upgraded to a set of afr's... this the only reason for selling them....... no leaks or stripped bolt holes....do dings or scratches either.... lmk what you would like to do... thx"
The seller will not reimburse me in any way. He said all sales are final (which he never said this until AI informed me of the problems with these heads). I would like a refund....

The seller has agreed to refund my money once I return the heads. I will update this once the transaction is complete.
