"new hemi" in a 69 charger
 

I have a 69 charger that has been on the back burner for some time. I'm about to get started with the engine build but I'm not sure what to go with. I have a 440, 383, and a old 392 hemi. The 392 would be cool, but I don't want to lose the A/C and power steering. I have loved tunning the LSx engines with HPTuners, and I want to make the charger VERY reliable. so I've been thinking of a new hemi. Has anyone seen or heard of on being installed in a b body? I've seen a v10 charger, so why not a hemi? I doubt the new hemi blocks will bolt up to a 727 right?
The other idea is throwing in a 6.0 4l80e combo.....lol

yes, been done. you can even use a lsx computer. that would be preferred as the mopar piece is not very user friendly right now to mods.

The new HEMI will bolt up to a 727. I agree the LSX computer is the way to go, and a few guys have done it already.

Wait, Use a LSX computer to run a hemi?

Its not much different than running an aftermarket PCM really, and the motors are relatively similar -- coil per cyl, etc. Not to mention, LSX PCM's can be had quite inexpensively.

Wilde Racing, We're installing a 6.1/392 stroker into a 67 Barracuda. This will be an all out drag car with twin T70 Q Trim turbos, and a 727 with a trans brake. The car weighs in at a touch under 2800lbs. We plan on using a FAST system at the moment.

i agree fast is simple and easy to tune, but the lsx computer is cheap and fits the bill for a street car swap into the older chasis where your having wiring issues anyways.

most sensors are simliar and you just would need to add the mass air into the mix and walla! your now able to get a simple and fairly cheap ls1edit to tune the motor and make tons more power in my opinion.

Ya, that does make sences, just sounded wierd at first. So what about engine mounts? I haven't even seen a bare new gen. hemi...

there available. tti makes a nice header also. small block bell housings will bolt up also.
